Bio
Silverio Castillo is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in New York City. A first-generation Dominican American, she draws deeply from her ancestral lineage of strong Latina women and the stories that shape her community. She earned her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from The Fashion Institute of Technology.
Her practice spans traditional fine art, recycled textile, sustainable streetwear, and energetic jewelry. Castillo explores spirituality and the journey back to self — weaving together themes of healing, ancestry, and transformation. Through this lens, she examines how personal and collective restoration intersect, using her art as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds.
Rooted in both reverence and rebellion, Silverio’s work reflects a desire to return to wholeness while confronting the social, political, and cultural forces that shape identity. She believes that art and community serve as catalysts for awakening — tools through which we remember, reclaim, and reimagine what it means to be free.
